Dear receiver,
I represent the readers of rec.games.roguelike.nethack. Recently, I
ran into one of the messages you sent to the group - and found out
that you had sent it to *completely* wrong newsgroup.
r.g.r.n is a group devoted for discussion about the computer game
called Nethack and its variants (for more information, see
). r.g.r.n has
nothing whatsoever to do with warez, cracker culture and network
"hacking" (the game is called Nethack because it happened to be
developed in 'net community). Most of the readers of r.g.r.n are
hackers of the True Path, and to them, hacking means programming - or
playing Nethack.
I hope you understand that sending "hacking" messages to our group is
generally unacceptable and I hope you will not do so again. However,
if you send this kind of messages to the group again, I will report to
your ISP.
As you read this, I have already sent a rather abusive nastygram to
r.g.r.n, describing the actions the CR3T1NZ advisory Mobile Unit has
taken to clear the situation. I hope you don't mind about the message
- it was intended as a general amusement, not as an attack against
your person.
- Signed, of
