The lands of Avarthrel have seen countless heroes. So far, the tales documented here seem to focus on only a couple of them…

Faira Ativel
The raven-haired, black-clad rogue has certainly seen her share of the world and strange and perplexing situations, but few that are devoid of fun and amazement - for her, at least. She fled the dull fisher’s life in home, and soon wound up as one of the famed Privateers of Varmhjelm. As the trade on the seas died down in the dark tides before the Great Revolution, she joined the Shadowhawks, a guild of honourable thieves, and during the Revolution, helped in her own way to maintain some sort of order in the city. After the Revolution, she has sought fame as an adventurer with her friends; who knows what will happen when she finally gets back her letter of marque and gets married to that charming elven noble who is waiting for her…
Facyr Tann
This mercenary from the northern land of Grycia - and a quite typical example of Grycians, a bit tallish man with with hair of sandy brown - is having hard time just doing his thing. He has enjoyed his life as a soldier in the Grycian militia, and later as a mercenary, a caravan guard, and later as an officer of the Anchorfall City Guard: A good chance to see interesting places, meet fascinating people, and put his skills to good use by avoiding killing them. He has proven himself to be a capable leader and organiser, though few would describe him as a particularly heroic and fatherlike… which all comes down to the same old problem: he’s good at slicing monsters and bandits, he’s not that good at the rest of what comes to that field. In the mundane side of life, he’s often seen by others as a little bit quiet person. He’s married to Cassandra.
Cassandra Arthailia de Tai
Already, the bards are composing songs honouring the “warrior princess of Aiecaertea”. Born literally in the middle of a great royal family of great warriors in the country where great battles seemed to happen pretty often, Cassandra felt that she would be of better service to her homeland as a travelling mercenary, fighting evil wherever she went - surely, the war wouldn’t be up to a single warrior in the front lines. She has gained quite a bit of popularity in her journeys; archetypical warrior-women of great beauty, fighting prowess and virtuous and idealistic attitude tend to etch themselves in memories everywhere. Now, she has fulfilled her long-standing dream and married her first real love, Facyr; this union of an idealist and a realist has become a rather fruitful one.
Gnedrnygr Adithebadoggr
To an uninformed observer, Gnedrnygr would just be one of the senile fossils walking between the stacks of the Anchorfall Academy of Magic Library. But even a casual look at his behaviour would reveal that if he really is over 70 years old, he’s doing a very good job hiding it; it’s clear he may not have been the best build person in the existence to begin with, and all absent-mindedness he has apparently took root when he was a little kid, anyway. Indeed, he is a fully qualified Evoker, one of the respected magicians from the distant land of Colemia; still clear in his mind and passably fit in body after magically preserving his body a long time ago. He does little to dispel the myth that Evokers like fireball spells. He also likes oranges.
