This page was just started and will need to be updated in the future, but here are some random recommendations anyway, just to get the ball rolling...

Games

The Battle for Wesnoth was one of the greatest inspirations for Avarthrel - an union of rich fantasy world and open source software. However, since the open source world always needs alternatives to cater for all needs, Avarthrel is obviously needed. But I may, in the future, use Wesnoth as a basis for a mod/campaign based on Avarthrel.

Adonthell is a slightly more obscure open source game, and it may have had some subconscious influence what comes to naming Avarthrel. Great game, for what it's worth, though...

Stories

The Eye of Argon - so, you want to really know what inspired me to write? This story. It raised so many fascinating ideas in my mind - most important of them being "I'm wasting my writing talents if I just sit around here, I can clearly write better than this guy". =)
