Yawwwn, it's getting late. Anyway, a friend of mine and I had good discussions on the nature of self-reflection in the books, as was rambled about in the earlier entry. I think the story will have that.

Another thing - I updated Rails, and now had a sudden craving to update my own wiki. Yet, instiki goes boom. =(

So I did what seemed sensible at the time: Took SnipSnap and installed it, told it to look at a PostgreSQL database (instead of a mysterious multi-spread binary-mess format used by Instiki), and wham! High-quality wiki stuff. Too bad I had to convert all entries by hand, and lost a couple of months of history, good that most of my changes had always been incremental in nature...

SnipSnap has an annoying feature though: No support for [Pagename|some damn text here] kind of links, which is kind of weird, because it seems to take some inspiration from Everything2 (softlinks in a wiki! Yay!) and other wiki software that clearly do support such notation. Erk. The syntax is {link:some damn text here|/space/Page title|none} and it has drawbacks (like lack of creation link, if the page doesn't exist). Ugly.

Anyway, the Wiki shall Continue. =)

Too bad I spend too much time, er, wikifiddling and not writing the stuff. But today, I did write the stuff more. I'm not happy about some things I wrote though - still need to mess with the story seriously...
