Ruin

“Catch the wolfiloid! It’s ruining everything!” (src)

That’s what I wrote in one of the Avarthrel flash fiction stories. It’s one of those phrases that I just write and start to live a life of their own inside my mind.

In the story, we have a bad guy who says this wolfiloid is ruining their plan — of making supper in a big cauldron. I don’t know what the story really is about; I just wanted to write something completely epic. I guess I lost the marbles. But the point is, here’s one phrase from the story that kind of lived.

What could be possibly cuter than a few cute things that ruin the bad guy’s plans? Confusion is very cute, cute things that cause confusion is cute, and cute things that cause confusion to bad guys and ruin the bad guy’s plans in a hilarious manner is very cute indeed!

I thought this phrase was also cute. The fact that things get ruined isn’t good; The fact that you’re correctly noticing that a very nice and cute thing is going to ruin is cute and wonderful, however. Preventing nice things from going to ruin is cute! And even if it’s going to ruin, it can go to ruin in an amusing way and we can start again — and learn from the experience!
