Flying around

Flying around is cute. I think it is because flying is free, flying can be happy, and flying can be fun. The most fun kind of flying is slow, possibly near the ground, and not very purposeful - the idea is just to enjoy the flying and not really go anywhere. Changing the perspective can often be a fun thing to do!

Of course, the most simple and typical example of a cute creature that flies around is a tailoid.

However, I think I first realised that creatures that fly around are cute when I played The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The Kokiri Forests have various tailoid-like flying things; I think this is one of the sources of inspiration for the tailoids in general. I had similar heart-melting moment of cute inspiration with The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess, which has cute flying things in the snowy mountains. And they are even located close to wolfoses!
