(Originally posted on Cheetahmen Corner forum. Some random comparisons of WarioWare and Action 52.)
I'm a big fan of WarioWare games on GBA/DS.
I have to say that many a time I have been also thinking of Action 52 while playing WW. I have been also thinking of the great differences between these games. The main difference is that WarioWare games are simple, yet "fully researched"; that is, they are simple but in their own way challenging, and always prove that simple games need not be bad. The games may be simple, but every one of them shows that they have been put together by a rational human being with nothing but love in their hearts.
Where does Action 52 fit in this? The games may be simple, but every one of them shows that they have been put together by a raving madman with nothing but a looming deadline and desire to make proffits. WarioWare is fun when you learn to play a two-second-long game masterfully. Action 52 is fun if you die in two seconds. (Well, the NES version, anyway. I haven't played much the Megadrive version, which seemed to have some Quality in it, too, everynowonceandwhile.)
I'm definitely reading too much into this, or maybe I'm just daft. =)
